This time the government of West Java take their turn to spice up the local coffee industry through the 2012 Coffee and Tea Exhibition by collaborating with Morning Glory. It will be held at Cihampelas Walk, Jl. Cihampelas, Bandung, from 8 to 9 July 2012, and it will showcase many events that will be officially opened by the West Java governor himself, Mr. Ahmad Heryawan. There’s also a Barista competition that offers a main prize of five million rupiah and a trip to Florence, Italy, to visit La Marzocco’s factory, and to visit the oldest café in the world which is located in Venice.
According to Nathanael Charis from Morning Glory this Tea and Coffee Festival will feature farmers from both commodities, as well as well-known executives from the coffee industry. For the participants who are interested to join the Barista Competition, they can register online here: “Application Form for the International Barista Challenge 2012″.
The participants are limited to 12, since it’s only a one-day event which is on 9th July 2012. Tea lovers can also participate in the Tea Brewing Competition.
The whole rundown of the event will start at 10:00 and finish at 22:00.
Festival Teh & Kopi + Kompetisi Barista
Kali ini giliran Pemerintah Propinsi Jawa Barat yang tak mau ketinggalan dalam meramaikan industri kopi di tanah air melalui Pameran Kopi dan Teh 2012 bekerjasama dengan Morning Glory. Akan berlangsung di Cihampelas Walk, Jl. Cihampelas, Bandung dari tanggal 8 hingga 9 Juli ini menampilkan berbagai acara yang akan dibuka langsung oleh Gubernur Jawa Barat, Ahmad Heryawan. Selain itu ada komptisi Barista dengan hadiah utama 5 juta rupiah dan perjalanan ke kota Florence di Italia sekaligus berkunjung ke pabrik La Marzocco dan cafe tertua di dunia yang berlokasi di kota Venesia.
Menurut Nathanael Charis dari Morning Glory ajang Festival teh dan Kopi ini akan diramaikan oleh kehadiran para petani kedua komoditas tersebut serta para pemain di industri kopi pada umumnya. Untuk para calon peserta yang bermaksud untuk mengikuti Kompetisi Barista bisa mendaftar secara on-line di sini : “Formulir Pendaftaran International Barista Challenge 2012”.
Peserta hanya dibatasi sejumlah 12 orang mengingat waktu kompetisi yang hanya satu hari yakni pada tanggal 9 Juli 2012. Oh ya, para penikmat teh dapat juga mengikuti acara “Tea Brewing Competition”.
Keseluruhan acara akan dimulai dari jam 10.00 hingga 22.00.
